Cabazon Dinosaurs is an Interstate 10 roadside attraction and dinosaur park in Cabazon, built around the giant Dinny the Apatosaurus and Mr. Rex. It is a practical family stop for photos, a dinosaur walk, and time among more than 100 dinosaur figures.

A Memorable Roadside Landmark

Dinny and Mr. Rex are the defining steel-and-concrete dinosaurs here, and the site is also known for appearances in Pee-wee’s Big Adventure and The Wizard. The giant figures make this an easy photo stop when you are traveling through Cabazon. Beyond the landmark pair, more than 100 dinosaur figures create a larger park setting to explore on foot.

Activities for Young Dinosaur Fans

Visitors can follow the dinosaur walk, take photos with the figures, try the dino dig, or use the fossil-and-gemstone panning sluice. Two gift stores offer dinosaur toys, jewelry, and T-shirts; one is in the museum and another is inside the belly of the Apatosaurus. These activities make the stop most useful for families with young children.

Plan for Paid Areas

The attraction has paid areas, with tickets sold at the door rather than in advance online. It operates on a seasonal schedule — check ahead before you go. Leashed pets may enter the exhibit area only when carried, and alcohol, smoking, and illegal drugs are not allowed anywhere on the property, including the parking lot.

If a giant dinosaur landmark fits your drive, stop in Cabazon and allow time for the walk and hands-on activities.
