Crossroads Cafe is a classic American diner in downtown Joshua Tree, near the main entrance to Joshua Tree National Park. It does not take reservations, so this made-from-scratch comfort-food stop works best with a first-come, first-served plan.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner bring diner staples together with a substantial selection of Latin American dishes. Burgers, huevos rancheros, and breakfast burritos are among the familiar choices. For a pre-park meal or a break after desert exploration, the broad menu offers a relaxed counterpoint to the nearby national park entrance.
Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free choices give groups with varied needs more options. Look for tofu scramble, the seitan Hell Burger, Soy-Rizo dishes, a vegan quesadilla, and three-bean chili. Joshua Tree Coffee Company coffee, beer, wine, and local drafts add beverage choices alongside the food menu.
The small dining room has Old Western decor mixed with modern steampunk touches, plus indoor and outdoor seating. Street parking is available nearby, and free Wi-Fi is offered. At busy times, waits can build; parties of six or more are served on a single check, a useful detail to know before gathering a larger group.
Stop in before or after the park, allow a little flexibility for seating, and settle into a distinctly Joshua Tree diner meal.
