Desert Island is one of the most distinctive layouts in the valley: a Desmond Muirhead design from 1971 that wraps entirely around a large lake with a high-rise tower on an island at its center. It plays par 72 over 6,716 yards with mountains behind and water almost constantly in view.

A Former Private Club Now Open to Everyone

The significant news is access. Formerly the Sinatra Resort & Country Club and long members-only, the club now states it is open to members and non-members alike. Packaged tee times have appeared from about $44 to $60, against a published rack figure near $170. The 9 1/2 Bar & Kitchen and The Penney restaurant are on site.
