Palm Canyon Theatre is a nonprofit theatre company in uptown Palm Springs producing live musicals and plays. Visitors can experience a season that includes musicals, comedies, dramas, and operetta at a company with a continuing commitment to education in live stage production.

A Range of Live Theatre

A Repurposed School Setting

Palm Canyon Theatre occupies the historic Frances S. Stevens School, repurposed after the Layne family won the City of Palm Springs proposal for the building. Extensive tenant renovations prepared the school for its theatrical purpose. The result links a live-performance visit with a recognizable piece of Palm Springs history.

A Company of Collaborators

Three generations of the Layne family have worked at the theatre, alongside an extended family of collaborators. That family-centered history supports the company’s approach to producing stage work and advancing education in live stage production.
