The Palm Desert Community Center runs the valley’s most useful summer pickleball option: three indoor courts inside an air-conditioned gymnasium. From June through September, when outdoor courts are unplayable for most of the day, this is where mid-valley players go. Drop-in play runs Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings, and the cost is either free with a facility pass or a $5 daily drop-in fee, which is still the cheapest indoor court time in the Coachella Valley.

Courts & Surfaces

Three indoor pickleball courts in the community center gymnasium. Indoor play means consistent conditions with no wind, no glare and no heat, and paddle rentals are typically available at the desk.
