Palm Springs Pride Equality Walk

Walkers with rainbow flags on a palm-lined desert street

The Pride Equality Walk kicks off the 40th anniversary of Greater Palm Springs Pride with a morning march through downtown Palm Springs for LGBTQ+ visibility and equal rights. Walkers step off from the Arenas District and loop back for a block party, and every dollar raised helps keep the November Pride Festival and Parade free for everyone.

Why go

  • A milestone year: 2026 marks 40 years of Pride in Palm Springs.
  • Music on the route: Expect the Desert Winds Freedom Band, the Flaggers of the Desert, a DJ dance zone and a water stop along the way.
  • Block party finish: The walk ends back in the Arenas District with food, drinks and live DJs.

What to expect

Registration opens at 7 a.m., warm-up and kickoff remarks start at 8 a.m., and the walk steps off at 8:30 a.m. KESQ News Channel 3 personalities Peter Daut and Sandie Newton are set to emcee the start. The mood mixes civic advocacy with downtown party energy, and you can join as a solo walker, build a team, or simply cheer from the sidewalk.

Know before you go

  • Register ahead on the Pride website to walk or fundraise.
  • Morning temperatures can still climb in October, so bring water and sun protection.
  • The main Pride Festival and Parade follows on Nov 6-8, 2026.
