Ruth Hardy Park is the largest free tennis venue inside Palm Springs city limits, with eight public hard courts set among mature shade trees in the Movie Colony neighborhood. There is no fee, no membership and no reservation system for casual play, so visitors can simply walk on to an open court. The courts sit within a 22-acre park that also carries picnic ramadas, a playground and a dog park, which makes it an easy stop for families where only one member wants to hit.
Eight public hard-surface tennis courts operated by the City of Palm Springs Parks & Recreation Department. Court lights allow evening play, a real advantage from May through September when daytime surface temperatures make midday tennis impractical.
Open daily with lights available until 10pm. Free walk-on play, first come first served. Restrooms, drinking fountains and free surface parking on Tamarisk Road.
